Allen E. Sundy, 85, of Big Spring, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2012, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Herb McPherson, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the funeral home.
He was born May 25, 1927, in Flomaton, Ala. and married Pauline “Polly” Harrell Sept. 4, 1947, in Big Spring. She preceded him in death April 24, 2002.
Allen worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years and then farmed. He loved to garden and was an avid golfer.
He was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Sundy and Mark Sundy and wife Elva, all of Big Spring and Randy Sundy of Grainvalley, Mo.; one daughter, Rita Faulkner and husband, Gary of Big Spring; six grandchildren, Clint Faulkner, Clay Faulkner, Cassie Faulkner, Elizabeth Sebolt, Krissy Sundy and Nathan Sundy and five great grandchildren, Hailey Sundy, Peyton Sundy, James Sebolt, Haley Sebolt and Elyssa Sebolt.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Kay Sundy and Sherri Sundy; four brothers, Albert Sundy, Clark Sundy, Jimmy Sundy and Monroe Sundy and one sister, Idabelle Bankston.
