Alvin Gillion, 53, of Big Spring died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Private family services will be at a later date.

He was born May 12, 1960 in Galveston, Texas. He married Penny Faul Sept. 2, 1987 in Scotty, La. He has lived in Big Spring for the past seven years. He worked as a sandblaster.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Gillion of Big Spring; three daughters, Patsy Gail Gillion of Big Spring, Kristi Fitzpatrick of Big Spring, and Cassie West of Big Spring; one son, Alvin John Gillion of Big Spring; and two grandchildren, Cody James Grissom and Alvin James Gillion, both of Big Spring.
