Funeral services for Alvis Kenneth Harry, 78, of North Richland Hills will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Weever to officiate. Burial will follow at Smithfield Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Alvis Harry, loving husband, father granddad and friend entered his heavenly home Oct. 14, 2013. He was born Jan. 26, 1935, to S.M. and Faye Woods Harry in Lamesa, Texas. He worked construction many years and retired from Birdville Independant School District in 2001.

He had a passion for riding, roping, R.V. camping, fishing, woodworking, going to the mountains, his family, friends, his Lord and Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Reba Harry, son, Russell Harry and his wife Camille Smith, daughters, Kenda Baxter and her husband Stephen, Angela Sanchez and her husband Eddie, granddaughters Salina Sanchez, Karmen Gillingham, Lorelei Smith, Sierra Sanchez and Wayne Carroll, Selicia Sanchez and Elvis Skipper and Chelsea and Shaun Bolen.

Alvis is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ancel Harry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 105 Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
