Angel Tree volunteers needed

Area residents can slide right into the Christmas holidays next week as volunteers to help sort and package the Salvation Army's Angel Tree donations in preparation for distribution.

Donated gifts for the more than 200 participants are expected to be dropped off at the Salvation Army in the next few weeks all of which must must sorted, wrapped and packaged.

Already under way, the Angel Tree program solicits Christmas gifts for children and seniors based on income need. Each angel, which can be found on Christmas trees located at various businesses in town, contains a wish list. Volunteers can adopt an angel, shop for a gift, attach the card to the items and return the gift to the Salvation Army offices, 811 West 5th St.
