Ann C. Hayes, 72, of Big Spring, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Private family services will be at a later date.

She was born April 25, 1941, to Nona and Fred Carson in Hamlin, Texas. She grew up in Hamlin and first came to Big Spring as a young adult. She was a graduate of Howard College and a veteran of the Army, serving in the Army Corps of Engineers. She was a designer for Frito Lay, several oil companies and Texas Eastern Pipeline. She also did independent drafting for various pipeline companies. At age 53, she went to the Law Enforcement Academy in Houston and was a constable in Montgomery County. She also prepared taxes from 1986 to 2013. She married Robert Hayes Nov. 15, 1975 in Dallas. They came to Big Spring in 2012 from New Caney, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hayes of Big Spring; three sons, Jim Brown and wife, Lisa, of Nevada, Dan Brown and wife, Sonia, of Bonham and Bobby Brown of Tyler; one daughter, Debra Guerrero of Terlingua; one brother, Paul Carson and wife, Henri, of Big Spring; one sister, Charlotte Hester of Arlington; seven grandchildren; and a number of great -grandchildren.
