Annalee Hillger Sims â€śMiMiâ€ť went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on April 7, 2012. She had a wonderful, warm and giving heart. She has a large family that continually grows with new members. She welcomed everyone she met with open, loving arms.
She served on several committeeâ€™s through her church since 1985. She also served as a Sunday school teacher, day care board member and a substitute teacher at Greenwood. She also volunteered at the Baptist Crisis Center for more than 20 years. One of her many passions was the prison ministry, for which she dedicated 22 years of her life to this ministry. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry William Hillger and Edna Lee Overton Hillger; one son, Clyde Berry Cunningham; one brother, Dale Roy Hillger; and one great-granddaughter, Kelsey Rhoton.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Paul J. Sims; daughter, Beverly Lentz and husband Brad; son, James â€śJimmyâ€ť Cunningham and wife TJ; son, Joey Sims and girlfriend Wendy McKenzie; son, Robert Sims and wife Louise Sims; son, Wayne Sims and wife Missy; two brothers, Robert Hillger and wife Leta and David Hillger and wife Debbie; three sister in laws, JoAnn Hillger, Vada Moore and husband Thomas and Shirlene Miles; 16 grandchildren, Jimmy Cunningham, Becky Vanlandingham and husband Terry, Jason Lentz and wife Jessie-Ann, Samantha Williams, David Cunningham and wife Lindsey, Chasidy Thompson, Shelly Sanchez, Shelby Sims, Michael Paul Sims, Doobie Sims, Hunter Sims, Alexandrea Sims and Lauren Sims; 11 great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Zachary, Breana, Nathan, Ashton, Jayci, Jansen, Kadie, Brittany, Brandon and Amy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Watkins and his staff at Texas Oncology and all the nurses with Hospice and the Oncology Ward at Midland Memorial Hospital (4th Floor). We would also like to send a special thanks to all the family and friends who brought food and flowers.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 9, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Greenwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 10908 FM 307, Midland, TX 79706.
