Annette ‘Ann’ Marie Weaver

Annette “Ann” Marie Weaver, 81, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Midland Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Weaver Family & Friends Cemetery with Wade Cobb, minister of the Gathering in Midland, officiating.
Ann was born July 7, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas to Sophie Ruth and Jessie Jackson and grew up in Cleo Springs, Okla., where she was a cheerleader and twirler for her school band. After working for Boeing and as a hair model, Ann moved to Big Spring in the 1950s, where she met and married Aubrey Weaver Sr. in 1963. Ann worked as a secretary at Hall-Bennett Hospital for many years and co-owned City Pawn Shop with her husband. In later years, Ann served as secretary, treasurer and organizational backbone for the Howard County Democrats, Mother Advisor to the Big Spring Chapter of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, worked as a caregiver, and helped with Meals on Wheels. Ann believed in Christ, was an extraordinary cook, loved children and animals and had a great passion for the well-being of everyone she knew or met.
Ann is survived by three sons: Terry Vaughn (and wife Helen) of Midland, Mackie Vaughn and Aubrey Weaver, Jr. of Big Spring; one daughter: Marci Rogers (and husband True) of Midland, Mich.; four grandchildren: Dax Fields of Sweetwater, Lauren Van Zandt (and husband Kyle) of Altus, Okla., Tansley Rogers and Marcellous Rogers of Midland, Mich.; two great grandchildren: Macie Van Zandt and Lilly Van Zandt of Altus, Okla.; and two sisters, Jessie Dent of Florida and Cleo Burt of California.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey, whose cremated remains will be laid to rest with her.
