Annual Tour of Homes Sunday

December 8, 2011

This year, five Big Spring couples are opening their homes and spreading Christmas cheer as part of the 2011 Tour of Homes.

“There is a great variety of homes this year. Each house brings something different and they are all pretty neat,” Eulaine McIntosh, president of the Big Spring Symphony Guild, said.

Area residents will have an opportunity to tour these five homes from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

“We usually have a couple of hundred come through the tour each year, but it's usually the same people. You will see those who are interested in supporting the arts as well as the city officials, realtors and other people throughout the community.” McIntosh said.

Featured homes are: Chuck and Cynthia Breyman, 3106 Mountain Shadow; David and Marie Justice, 1219 S. Moss Lake Rd.; Bruce and Belle Schooler, 6414 S. Service Rd; Jesse and Lori Metcalf, 1005 S. Moss Lake Rd. and Robert and Jessica Price, 1601 S. Moss Lake Rd.

Each home brings a different aspect to the tour, each with its own history, McIntosh said.

Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased in advance at Faye's Flowers, Blum's Jewelers, Heritage Museum, Western Bank, Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce and KBST.

McIntosh also said tickets can also be purchased at each of the houses on Sunday. Each ticket will have a map on the back in order to help people find the houses on the tour.
