Archie Collins, 58, died Friday, July 20, 2012. Family visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Faith Temple COGIC, with burial following in Fairview Cemetery under the director of Thomas Funeral Home.

He was born June 21, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas, to David and Marise Collins and married Veronica Sterling in May 2012. He attended schools in Midland and graduated from Midland High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed with Sendero Drilling Co. until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Veronica; three brothers, David Collins Jr. (Toni), and Samuel "Sam" Collins, both of Big Spring, Texas, and Jeffery Collins of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Annie Samuels (Raymond), and Zelma Dickens (Carl), both of Midland, Texas; four step-children, Latosha Berry (Lamont West Sr.), Nathan Sterling, Antionette Berry and Kristopher Sterling, all of Fort Worth, Texas; six step-grandchildren; and may nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Luke Collins.
