Arnulfo 'Shorty' Hernandez

Arnulfo “Shorty” Hernandez, 63, of Coahoma died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial at Coahoma Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 15, 1950, in Big Spring to Santiaga and Arnulfo Hernandez. He married Manuela Rodriguez on April 12, 1969, in Big Spring.
He worked for the City of Coahoma for 10 years. He worked for the City of Big Spring for three years and more recently, the Brazos River Authority at Acton, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Howard County and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Manuela of Coahoma; three sons, Anthony Hernandez and wife Sabrina and Michael Hernandez and wife Sonya, all of Big Spring, and Aron Hernandez of Denton; three daughters, Katherine Gonzales and husband Sammy of Big Spring, Elizabeth Haston and husband Anthony of Coahoma and Julie Arismendez and husband Michael of Sparenburg; two brothers, Rick Hernandez and wife Grace of Weatherford and Jerry Hernandez and wife Cindy of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Loretta Hernandez of Fort Worth and Barbara Canady of Escondido, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Jean Hernandez; one grandson, Justin Hernandez; one sister, Theresa McAdory; and one brother, Danny Hernandez.
