Arrington stops by Howard County on District 19 tour

U.S. Congressman Jodey Arrington was back in West Texas this past Memorial Day weekend on a tour of six of the 29 counties encompassing District 19 before heading back to Washington, D.C.
“I am energized by being back home. I get to update folks, and they get to help inform me on their feelings about the things we are working on,” Arrington said. “A lot of them watch the national media, read, or see cable news, and I like to give them my perspective. It's not always how it's portrayed on cable news. I think that's part of my job, to not only say ‘Here's what we are doing and working on, but here is why I voted this way’; why I think it's the best course for our country and the best interest for West Texas.”
He sat down with the Herald Tuesday afternoon to discuss what’s happening with some critical issues — veterans' healthcare, the American Health Care Act, and President Trump’s propose 2018 budget.
