Arthur Jerry DEan, 67, of Big Spring died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Trinity Memorial Park, with Sam Peak and Thomas Hayes officiating.
Jerry was born Aug. 10, 1944 in Cisco, Texas to Juanita and A.Z. DEan. He grew up at Forsan and graduated from Forsan High School. In 1962, he moved to Indiana and worked for Babcock & Wilcox Boiler Makers. He married Pennie Cain Sept. 15, 1967, in Griffin, Indiana. They moved to Big Spring in 1979. Jerry worked as a technician for Southwestern A-1 Pest Control for 28 years, retiring in 2009. After retiring, he delivered meals to the elderly. He attended Jewish Torah studies in Odessa.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Pennie of Big Spring; two daughters: Annisa Gustin and her husband Eric of Shepherd, Texas, and Genifer Corley of Grand Prairie; two sisters: Bettye Griffith of Big Spring and Barbara Tilley and her husband Marshall of Amarillo; two brothers: Randy DEan, and his wife Sydney of Perryton, and Ricky DEan and his wife Lana of Booneville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Royce Griffith.
