Assistant D.A. Robin Orr passes away

September 2, 2013

Robin D. Orr, 118th Judicial District Assistant District Attorney, has died from complications following heart surgery.

Orr, 61, who had served as the assistant DA for Howard, Martin and Glasscock counties for more than 12 years, died early Sunday morning in a Lubbock hospital. He had undergone open heart surgery two weeks ago, but complications ensued and he never recovered, District Attorney Hardy L. Wilkerson said.

“He was a good man and a good lawyer who always pursued justice in his job, and he's going to be deeply missed,” Wilkerson said.

Orr was a graduate of Baylor University School of Law and practiced law privately in the Baytown area for several years before joining Wilkerson's staff 12 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Kay, an administrator with the Region 18 Educational Service Center.

No funeral arrangements have been announced.
