Barr-Durst wedding

Mrs. Meridith Durst

Meridith Kaye Barr and Barrett Wade Durst were united in marriage Saturday, May 5, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Big Spring. The Rev. Mark Lindsey officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Maxwell and Kaye Barr of Coahoma. The groom is the son of Malita and Glenn Durst of Fredericksburg. Maid of Honor was Mrs.Brittney Sartor, friend of the bride, of Bastrop. Bridesmaids were Ms. Andrea Cruce, friend of bride, from Lubbock; Mrs. Sarah Barr, sister-in-law of the bride, Houston; and Mrs. Christy Barr, sister-in-law of the bride, Rowlett.
Best man was Mr. Brandon Durst, brother of the groom, of Fredericksburg. Groomsmen were Mr. Matt Feller, friend of the groom, of Fredericksburg; Mr. Kyle Treibs, friend of the groom, Fredericksburg; and Mr. Cullen Sartor, friend of the couple, of Bastrop. Ushers who served were: Mr. Jason Drew, cousin of the bride, of Buda, Texas; Mr. Wesley Drew, cousin of the bride, Buda, Texas; and Mr. Stewart Barr, cousin of the bride, of Frisco, Texas. The reception was held at the Big Spring Country Club immediately after the ceremony.
The bride’s white gown had a form fitting taffeta bodice with ruching and a dropped waistline. The cascading detailed floral appliques shaped the breathtaking skirt with a chapel length train. She also wore a cathedral veil embellished with crystal accents.
Following their honeymoon to Hawaii, the couple will make their home in Big Bend Ranch State Park. Meridith is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor of business administration in finance.
Barrett is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science in animal science. He is employed with Texas Parks and Wildlife as the superintendent for Big Bend Ranch State Park.
