The Big Spring Lady Steers had no shortage of opponents Friday night.

For starters, there was the visiting Sweetwater Lady Mustangs, who spotted the Lady Steers a six-run lead, then came roaring back with six runs of their own.

Then, there was the Lady Steers themselves, who gave the Sweetwater rally a helping hand with ineffective pitching and two three errors.

Finally, there was Mother Nature, who proved to be the toughest opponent of the night.

Lightning and the threat of an incoming thunderstorm caused Big Spring's District 5-3A showdown with Sweetwater to be halted in the bottom of the fourth. The game was to resume at at 6 p.m. Monday at the Big Spring ISD Softball Complex with the Lady Steers clinging to a 7-6 lead.
