Bessie V. Flores

Bessie V. Flores, 45, of Big Spring died Thursday, March 14, 2013, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Salvation Army with Majors Orville and Debra Chambless officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

She was born March 20, 1967, in Big Spring, Texas and married Luis Flores June 12, 1991, in Coahoma, Texas.

A lifelong resident of Big Spring, Bessie was a member of the Salvation Army, where she worked as a social worker for many years and was a Corps Sgt. Major for the Church.

Survivors include her husband, Luis Flores of Big Spring; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie Knecht and Matthew Bell of Big Spring; a son, Dennis Knecht Jr. of Big Spring; a brother, Joe P. Rushing of Big Spring; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Eugene Rushing and Naomi "Tiny" Rushing.

The family suggests memorials be made to Salvation Army, 811 W. Fifth St., Big Spring, Texas 79720.
