Betty Jo Anderson

Betty Jo Anderson, 71, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Barbara Kirk-Norris, pastor of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, officiating. 
Betty was born Oct. 10, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas and moved to Big Spring in 1968. She lived here until 1985 and then lived in Boerne, Kerrville, Comfort and Dallas. She moved back to Big Spring in 2010. Betty earned a Masters of Education through the University of Texas Permian Basin, and touched many lives through her teaching. She taught special education in Big Spring and in Boerne for more than 25 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church of Big Spring.
Survivors include one son, George Ben Bancroft III and wife Elissa  of Big Spring; one daughter, Merribeth Bancroft-Kerr of Dallas; five grandchildren, Katherine Elise Kerr, James Andrew (Jack) Kerr, Annamay Medina Bancroft, Olivia Anderson Bancroft, and George Benjamin Bancroft IV; and two sisters, Alice Mae Odell of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Charlene Anderson of Flower Mound, Texas. 
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Eulah Vanessa (Breedon) Anderson. 
The family suggests memorials be made to Crossroads Hospice, 421 Main St., Big Spring, Texas 79720 or Road to Recovery, American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 2121, Big Spring, Texas 79721-2121.
