Big Spring, area, receives welcome rain

Big Spring received almost an inch of rain — .97 according to the National Weather Service — from Thursday's rains.

Forecasters were calling for the possibility of more rain through Saturday night, though without the 60 mph winds and hail many residents reported this morning.

According to the weather service, Thursday's rains split the Midland-Odessa area and neither city received even a trace of rainfall.

Sweetwater .37, Snyder 2.71, Sterling City 1.57, Abilene Regional Airport 5.9, San Angelo 1.79.
