Billie Angel Pinkerton, 81, of Stanton died April 2, 2012. Billie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Almond Thomas Angel and Mary Alice Angel; and by her sisters, Loreta McReynolds, Betty King and Margaret Oliver.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Dearwood Pinkerton of Stanton; son, Thomas Pinkerton and wife Denise of Odessa, daughter, Rita Powell and husband Boyce of Stanton and son, John Pinkerton and wife Sharon of Saginaw; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vida Mae Pinkston of Stanton, Joyce Davis, Celia Young and adopted sister, LaDell Jumper of Midland.
Billie was born March 13, 1931 in Big Spring, Texas, and moved to Martin County soon after. She attended school at Courtney. She married Charles Pinkerton on Oct. 22, 1949, at the Courtney Baptist Church.
While in Midland Billie and Charlie attended Bellview Baptist Church, where she began teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and ministering wherever she could.
In 1970 Billie and Charlie moved to Stanton. Billie was active in the Eastern Star in Stanton and First Baptist Church of Stanton. In 1984, she opened her own bookkeeping and tax business.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Stanton. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
