Billy Smith, 80, of Big Spring, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery, Coahoma.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 31, 1933, in Liberty Hill, Texas and married Charlsye Davis July 26, 1958, in Durant, Okla.

Billy had owned and operated several automatic transmission shops for more than 30 years. After retiring, he picked up the hobby of woodworking and loved sharing his projects with family and friends. He loved his church, First Baptist Church of Sand Springs.

He is survived by his wife, Charlsye Smith, of Big Spring; his son, Billy Smith and wife, Dena of Big Spring and three grandchildren, Brandi Michelle Smith, Jerrod Lee Smith and Brandon Jake Smith.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Smith; his parents, Milo S. and Dollie Newsom Smith; one sister, Evelyn Marie Brock; and five brothers, Leonard Smith, Willis Smith, Lee Roy Smith, Jimmy Smith and Junior Milo Smith.

The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Sand Springs, 8517 N. Service Road, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
