Billy Strickland

Billy Strickland, 54, of Stanton died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Evergreen Cemetery Chapel with pastor Jana Jobe officiating.

Billy was born Oct. 3, 1957, in Terry County, Texas, and married Mary Shiflet on Oct. 27, 2001, in Stanton. He worked as a roustabout and mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Strickland of Stanton; one son, B.J. Strickland of Lamesa; three daughters, Melissa Ervin of Seminole and Jamie Shiflet and Laura Mullenix, both of Stanton; his mother, Virginia Johnson of Midland; three brothers, James Richardson and Robert Strickland, both of Midland and David Strickland of Channelview; three sisters, Linda Laird and Cynthia Calhoun, both of Midland and Christy Stowe of Brownwood; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Strickland; and one sister, Diane Richardson.
