By ERIC RODEWALD Special to the Herald Howard College's baseball team is the No. 3 team in the nation, according to the NJCAA, but will enter the Region V Baseball Tournament in Lubbock beginning Sunday as the No. 2 seed from the Western Junior College Athletic Conference. The conference winner and No. 1 seed, New Mexico Junior College, is currently ranked seventh in the nation.

Friday afternoon at Snyder’s Moffett Field, the crowd that gathered to watch the Class A area round playoff game between the Forsan Buffaloes and O’Donnell Eagles were treated to such a masterpiece as Eagles' hurler Junior Castillo carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and O'Donnell upset Forsan, 4-0.
