Bob Hicks

Bob Hicks, 72, of Coahoma, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at his residence. Memorial celebration services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church in Coahoma. His friend and pastor, Tom Koger, will officiate and his life long friend, Karl Hoppess of Houston, will give a brief eulogy.
Bob was born Sept. 29, 1939, in Coahoma, Texas, and attended Coahoma High School. He was president of C&H Enterprises in Houston, Texas, for more than 40 years before returning to his home town of Coahoma. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Coahoma, serving as an elder and treasurer.
This was a loving and obstinate man, with an adoring family, who lived his life and planned his death exactly as he wanted.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Hicks of Coahoma; one daughter, Elaine Baranowski and husband Wayne of New Braunfels; one son, Robert Hicks of Alvin; two grandchildren, Shelly Davis and husband J.D. of New Braunfels and Jake Baranowski of Austin; two brothers, Henry Hicks of Lubbock and Ricky Hicks of Coahoma; one sister, Joyce Barrett of Coahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ruby Elliott Hicks; and a brother, Roger Hicks.
The family suggests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 94, Coahoma, Texas 79511.
