Bob Stewart, 81, of Big Spring, Texas, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Spring Creek Fellowship with Derrick Looney and Sue Hart, officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

He was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Hermleigh, Texas, and married Ben Ella Milner May 14, 1954, in Joshua, Texas.
Bob attended Big Spring schools and graduated from Sidney High School in Comanche County, Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. He then worked for Fina Oil and Chemical Refinery, retiring in 1994 after 33 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Ben Ella Stewart of Big Spring; a daughter, Teresa Griffin and husband, Bill, of Big Spring; a grandson; a great-grandson; four brothers, Herb Stewart of Palestine, Texas, Don Stewart and wife, Yin, of San Francisco, Calif., Guy Stewart and wife, Betty, of Galveston and W. L. Nowell and wife, Pat, of Red Oak, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Stella Marshall.

The family suggests memorials to Shriners Hospital for Children, www.shrinershospitalsforchldren.org or to a favorite charity.
