Body to undergo autopsy
Law enforcement officials say there are no outward indications what caused the death of a 39-year-old Big Spring man whose body was discovered in a field Friday afternoon in the southwest part of the city.Daniel Gene Moses, 39, of Big Spring was pronounced dead at the scene by Howard County Justice of the Peace Bennie Green shortly after the call was received by law enforcement.According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the Big Spring Police Department, the body was discovered and reported to police at approximately 4:15 p.m.“The body was discovered by some children who were walking around the neighborhood, near the 2500 block of Barksdale,” Everett said. “The children told some adults who contacted police dispatch. Officers arrived on the scene shortly after.“There are no outward indications of cause of death,” Everett said. “An autopsy was ordered by J.P. Green and is expected to be conducted today in Lubbock. There are no signs of foul play, however, we'll have to wait until the autopsy results come back before we can begin to establish a cause of death.”Funeral services for Moses are pending with Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
