Bonnie Coker, 78, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born April 17, 1934, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Gertie and George McEwen. She was a homemaker and also worked for 37 years for the Big Spring Independent School District as a bus driver. She was the first woman driver in Big Spring. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by her husband, Chap Coker of Big Spring; one son, George Coker of Big Spring; one daughter, Connie Tate and husband Reed of Abilene; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Gregor of Phoenix, Ariz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Benny McEwen.
