Bonura steps in as interim SWCID provost

January 31, 2012

Longtime friend and supporter of SouthWest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf, Dominick “Dom” Bonura, will be stepping in as the interim provost at the SWCID campus effective immediately.

Bonura will be taking the reigns from current Provost Dr. Mark Myers as Myers begins his search for new career opportunities with plans to return closer to his family by the fall of 2012, if not sooner. While Myers stays on the HC campus he will work in the position of development officer for the SWCID campus to pursue some fund-raising efforts relative to specific projects as well as finish some tasks relative to advancement of the institution with federal and state funding agencies.

“As Mark pursues new career opportunities for himself, he will be solidifying some projects already under way and I have asked Dom Bonura to return to our SWCID campus to provide interim leadership,” said Dr. Cheryl T. Sparks, Howard College president. “Dom knows and loves SWCID and I am confident that he can lead us through this time of transition with the support from our SWCID faculty and students.”
