Boys & Girls Club needs donations for Ambassador visit

February 18, 2011

Last-minute details are falling into place, but the local Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club still needs help to pull off the upcoming Harlem Ambassadors benefit basketball game.

The game, pitting the Ambassadors against a group of area notables, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dorothy Garrett Coliseum. Advance tickets for the game are $3 for seniors, $4 for students and $5 for adults and are available at the Salvation Army and Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $1 more in each category, said Sonnett Hildebrand, director of the Boys and Girls Club. Children 4 and under will be admitted free of charge.

Proceeds from the event go toward funding special activities at the club, Hildebrand said.
