BSHS singers clear hurdle toward state

October 2, 2013

Eleven Big Spring High School students received all-region accolades during tryouts this weekend in Odessa.

Nine BSHS students were named to the all-region choir outright, while two others were selected as alternates.
The all-region qualifiers are: Toby Shubert, Cory Hilario, David Juarez, Hannah Morgan, Micaiah Rodgers, Brycen Kiker, Roy Gomez, Michael Matthews and Donovan Clark. Aron Rios and Kate Sorton were selected as alternates to the choir.

The qualifiers advance to pre-area tryouts in Odessa Nov. 14. The top 10 performers in each section there advance to all-state choir auditions in January, BSHS Choir Director Anna Castaneda Gann said.
