BSISD sets early release for Friday

Big Spring Independent School District will have early dismissal of classes for grades 7-12 Friday to allow students to attend the Region I Volleyball Meet in Snyder.
Big Spring High School's Lady Steers will take on Andrews at 1 p.m. Friday on the Western Texas College campus. The winner will advance to the finals Saturday to face either Abilene Wylie or Monahans.
Grades 7-12 will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Grades K-6 will remain in school until their regular dismissal times unless a parent or guardian signs their child out through the office.
Transportation will run for at 11:30 a.m. for grades 7-12 and at the regular time for grades K-6.
District officials said Big Spring's appearance at regional volleyball meet will be the school's first since 1977. Winner of this weekend's Region I Tournament will advance to state.
