BSISD trustees give high five to Wigington

October 25, 2013

Trustees with the Big Spring Independent School District are clearly satisfied with the performance of Interim Superintendent Chris Wigington and are ready to continue with his leadership for some time.

“The board of the Big Spring Independent School District has a plan and the plan is to continue with Mr. Wigington as our interim superintendent,” board president Irene Rodriguez read from a prepared statement at the close of Thursday's trustees meeting. “He is doing, clearly, an outstanding job. He will have the full authority and support to run the district from the board. The board will re-evaluate around the first part of the year.

“Big Spring Independent School District team of eight would like to tell everybody in the community that we will continue to put our students first and do what is best for the school district.”

Trustees met for more than hour-and-a-half in closed session to evaluate the job Wigington has done since his hire in August. For his part, Wigington met with board members for more than hour.
