FORSAN — The Forsan Buffaloes broke out the lumber to claim their second district victory of the 2011 baseball season, pounding Denver City 16-8 at the FHS field Friday afternoon.

The Buffs spotted Denver City an early 2-1 lead, but came roaring back in the middle innings to put the game out of reach.

Peyton Parker pitched five innings to earn the win, with relief help from Trevor Burchett.

“It wasn’t our best game, but I’m not going to gripe about getting a win in district,” FHS Head Coach Jason Phillips said. “Hopefully, we can build on this.”

Forsan returns to action at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Midland Trinity.
