Calvin C. Gaston, 70, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1941, in Blackwell, Texas. Calvin was a pumper for Whiting Oil and Gas.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Gaston of Big Spring; three daughters, Deedra Bouldin and husband Louis Pritchett of Big Spring, Kimberley Cogburn and husband James and Amanda Patterson and husband Brian, all of Big Spring; his mother, Viola Gaston; six sisters, Jynette Suggs of Big Spring, Kathy Thompson of Hobbs, N.M., Karen Duncan and Diane Sebastian, both of Idalou, Lynese Gentry of Leakey and Ramona McNutt of Lubbock; three brothers, Andy Gaston of Alvarado, David Gaston of Sterling City and Kenneth Gaston of Westbrook; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernetta Gaston; his father, Clifford Gaston; two brothers, Kelton Gaston and Van Gaston; and one sister, Beaetta Gaston.
