Calvio files for JP election

November 29, 2013

The race is on.

Linda Calvio, the assistant director for Victims Services, filed Wednesday with the Republican Party to run for the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 2 position.

“Howard County has been my home for the past 57 years,” Calvio said. “This community has been good to me and my family and the people here have made me appreciate the goodness we have to offer.

“My working experience for the past 14 years with local law enforcement, liaison for the 118th Judicial District and community referral agencies will be a huge asset to me and a strong link between the public and their services,” she continued. “I have learned the gaps in services can be language translation and since I am bilingual, I believe I will be an asset to the position.”

Calvio has served with Victim Services for the past 14 years.
