Cancer survivor forms foundation

It may be a touchy subject, but they are Ballsy enough to handle it — pun intended.

The Ballsy Cancer Society of America is a new foundation aimed at educating the public, especially males ages 15-40, about testicular cancer.

“At this point, there is nothing else like this out there,” Jennifer Hedges, founder of Ballsy, said. “There is nothing in America that focuses on research and education.”

Hedges understands the need for education on this issue, after witnessing the journey her husband, Brady has had to travel.

“If he was anyone else, it's sad to say it, but he wouldn't be here with us today,” Hedges said.

At the age of 23, Brady was diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer. Since then, he has had to endure numerous surgeries and undergone several rounds of chemo and a leg amputation while learning how to deal with it all. Six years later, he is cancer free and sharing his story.
