Carolyn Carter, 77, of Big Spring, Texas, formerly of Hobbs, N.M., died Friday Jan. 31, 2014 at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Friends may pay respects Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1: p.m. Family services will be private.
She was born Sept. 14, 1946, in Kilgore, Texas, to Gladys and Claud Dorris. She married James T. Carter April 28, 1978 in Longview, Texas. She spent most of her life in Hobbs before moving to Big Spring in December 2012. She was a Baptist and Order of Eastern Star member. She worked as an LVN in hospitals and later in Home Health.
She is survived by her husband James T. Carter of Big Spring; one daughter, Velenda Duhon and husband Wayne of Houston; one son, Brian Sadler of Missouri; one brother, D.D. Dorris and wife Daniele of Austin and several grandchildren.
