Cars, Stars and Handlebars fund-raiser is Saturday

March 28, 2011

Money generated from the Fifth Annual Cars, Stars and Handlebars fund-raiser will assist Big Spring State Hospital customers and their families with the construction of a Family Visitation Center.

Customers and their families don’t have an ideal area set aside for quality visitation, said Billie Christie director of community relations.

“The volunteers are committed to helping our customers, and we have long believed that family support is crucial in recovery,” Christie said. “Our volunteers are committed to building this Family Visitation Center just like they have been committed to so many projects on our campus. It will be just wonderful and be so helpful to us in continuing our mission.”

Cars, Stars and Handlebars will kick off at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Big Spring Country Club, 2401 Driver Road, with hors d'oeuvres beginning at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s event is co-chaired by Stacy and Mark Barr and Robin Hallman.
Each $100 donation gives the ticket holder and one guest entry to the evening of fun, hors d’oeuvres, musical entertainment on the Big Spring Country Club patio, and the opportunity to take home a new vehicle.
