Cecil â€śCJâ€ť Jeptha Shockley died at home on Dec. 22, 2013. CJ was born in Knott, Texas on Aug. 10, 1938 to Cecil and Zada (Roberts) Shockley.
He worked in the department of corrections for more than 21 years, retiring as a lieutenant. He travelled extensively through his lifetime. He served in the United States Army at Fort. Carson, Colo. and Germany.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Wilma Jean, and his brothers; Mike, Richard and Bruce.
CJ is survived by his wife of five years, Mary Jo (Bayless) Shockley, step-sons, Troy Stephens, Michael Stephens; and foster daughter, Rhonda Tickle.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Christ at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013. Burial will follow at Heritage Valley Memorial Park.
