Cecil Douglas Hoard, 59, of Big Spring, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at his residence. Private family services will be at a later date.

He was born on July 1, 1954 in Big Spring. He spent most of his life in Howard County and also worked most of his life in the oil field. He married Cynthia Othman in Big Spring in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Hoard of Big Spring; one son, Daniel Hoard and wife Valorie of Big Spring; two daughters, Jasmine Othman and Sami of Elgin, Texas, and Riki Foos of Nebraska; five grandchildren, Delilah, Sophee, Alexander, Avery and Rowdy; two great-grandchildren: , Gavin and Parker; and one brother, Jim Stricklan and wife, Leslie, of Austin.

He is preceded in death by one brother, James Hoard; and one grandchild, Kimberly Peacock.
