C.G. Griffin, 89, of Big Spring died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with the Rev. Walter McCall and Dennis Etherege officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the funeral home.
He was born May 20, 1923, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Norma Henry on March 15, 1947, in Big Spring, Texas.
C.G. was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and had served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as the golf pro at Big Spring Country Club for many years, retiring in 1981 and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Griffin of Big Spring; his daughter-in-Law, Donna Griffin of Irving; two grandchildren, Amber Griffin of Los Angeles, Calif., and Tanner and Amanda Griffin and their daughter, Addison, of Austin; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Paul Herchman of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Lilly Griffin; a son, Teddy Griffin; and his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and John Bennett.
