Charles Floyd Archer, 70, of Big Spring died Monday, June 17, 2013, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Memorial Park with military honors.

He was born July 7, 1942, to Thelma and Floyd Archer in Dallas. He excelled at baseball and attended college on a baseball scholarship. He served in the United States military and was stationed in Germany as a Morse code interpreter. He worked in retail sales and management.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Kay of Big Spring; two sisters, Barbara Reeves and Linda Jimerson, both of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
