Charles Ralph Walker

Charles Ralph Walker, 81, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, in a Lubbock hospital following a sudden illness.

Services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Cotton officiating. Private interment will be at Trinity Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Myers and Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

He was born June 13, 1931, in Howard County to Mack Willis and Edna Graham Walker. He married Marian Murphy in Big Spring on Nov. 4, 1955.
He graduated from Flower Grove High School in Martin County in 1948. After working several years in the oilfield, he worked at the Big Spring Cosden Refinery, retiring in 1991. Ralph was a member of Trinity Baptist.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Floyd and Grady Walker; and his sister, Wilma Holley Cashion.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marian; daughter, Tina and husband Larry Doyle of San Angelo; a granddaughter; a grandson; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy Murphy and Dickie Murphy and wife Barbara, all of Big Spring and Jerry Murphy and wife Tavie of Seguin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to the building fund of Trinity Baptist Church, The Gideons, or to the charity of the giver’s choice.
