Charles Ray 'Charlie' Seals

Charles Ray “Charlie” Seals, 68, of Coahoma died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at his residence. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Coahoma Cemetery.

He was born June 15, 1943, in Stamford to Oleain and Charlie Seals. He married Nona Gilbert on March 2, 1963, in San Angelo. They moved to Howard County 40 years ago from Post. He worked at Howard College, retiring after 23 years. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Nona Seals of Coahoma; one daughter, Belinda Lendermon and husband Jack of Sterling City; three sons, Richard Seals and wife Carol of Sterling City, James Seals and wife Jennifer of Lubbock and Dewayne Seals and wife Olympia of Colorado City; one sister, Dorothy Williams of Lubbock; one brother, Leslie Seals and wife Vera of Post; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Marie Seals.
