Christmas comes but once a year, however, Christmas cards sometimes show up a few years and a couple months late.
Big Spring resident Mami Lee Dodds received an unexpected gift two days after Valentine's Day — a Christmas card from her late brother Brady.
“I recognized the handwriting before I ever opened it,” Dodds said. “I knew that it was from Brady. I figured it was something he had done before he passed away.”
Brady died eight years ago.
The card was postmarked Feb. 14, 2010, but the date on the inside showed that the card had been written in December 2000. It took 11 years for the card to make its way to its rightful place.
