CISD board to begin superintendent search

August 3, 2011

Coahoma ISD School Board President Brian Moore

COAHOMA — For the third time in the past six years, Coahoma Independent School District is in the market for a superintendent.

Trustees will begin the process of replacing Dr. Randy Brown when they hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the administration building board room.

Brown, CISD's superintendent for the past three years, is resigning his position effective Aug. 22 to accept a similar post at Snyder ISD.

His departure was greeted by a mixture of appreciation and sadness.

“(Snyder) definitely selected the right guy for the job,” said Brian Moore, president of the CISD board of trustees. ”We certainly didn't want (Brown) to leave, but we do wish him the best. He was a tremendous asset for us the past few years … but we're going to find a capable candidate for the job.”
