City posts restricted water use notice

March 11, 2014

Following is an announcement released by the city of Big Spring Tuesday morning:

In order for the City of Big Spring to perform essential upgrades to the Water Treatment Plant we will perform a 36-hour shut down on water treatment services. To ensure that there is sufficient water for basic living necessities the City Manager will temporarily ban all non-essential water uses beginning Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 9 p.m.

Outside watering, washing vehicles, filling of swimming pools, flushing water lines, wetting ground for construction, or any other non-essential uses of water will be strictly prohibited.

You may experience some inconveniences such as low water pressure, additional air in the water, loss of water etc.

We expect to resume treatment plant operations at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2014. You will be notified of the resumption of normal water usage by a follow up Public Service Announcement.

We appreciate your strict compliance with these restrictions.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Public Works at 264-2501.
