Clayton W. Bettle

Clayton W. Bettle, 91, formerly of Big Spring, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at the First Baptist Church Chapel, Big Spring, with the Rev. Mark Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.
Clayton was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Big Spring, Texas, and married Alta Mae Gage on Feb. 12, 1947, in Big Spring. She preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 2010.
He owned and operated Bettle and Womack Pipeline Construction company for 27 years. Clayton was a member of First Baptist Church of Big Spring, the Masonic Lodge and the Blue Lodge.
Survivors include his daughter, Kay Beaird of Belton; two grandsons; and four great grandchildren.
Clayton is also preceded in death by his parents, F. W. and Grace (Seigrist) Bettle; one brother, Albert F. Bettle; and one sister, Margaret Whaley.
