Cleta Barber

Cleta Barber, 66, of Stanton died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at her residence. She will lie in state at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating.
She was born March 9, 1947, in Hobbs, N.M., and married Joe Barber in December of 1963 in Stanton, Texas.
Cleta was a longtime resident of Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1966. She had worked as a teller at all the area banks until retiring due to her illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Barber of Stanton; one daughter, Joanna Barber of Stanton; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter,.
The family suggests memorials be made to Susan G. Komen, Lubbock Affiliate, Attn: Donor Services, 7412 University Ave. #2, Lubbock, TX 79423.
