Cliff Howard

Cliff Howard, 81, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Myers & Smith Chapel.

He was born July 13, 1930, in Childress, Texas, to Beulah Mae and Milton Clifford Howard. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Korea. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Company for 38 years.

He came to Big Spring in 1997 and married Lilia “Lily” Hinojos on Oct. 21, 1999, in Stanton, Texas, and she preceded him in death July 19, 2011. He was a member of the American Legion Post 345 and the Staked Plains Lodge 598, AF & AM. He was a volunteer for the Senior Citizens Center and was a Baptist.

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Jenson and husband Robert of Friendswood; two grandchildren, Eric Jenson and Brad Jenson of Friendswood; five step-children, Lewis Hinojos and wife Lucinda of San Angelo, Rene Hinojos and wife Deborah of Big Spring, Lisa Carreher, Go-Go Hughes and Joanna Weaver, all of Austin; one sister, Fannie Thaten of Childress; two brothers, Milton Howard and Dan Howard and wife Dortha, all of Childress; several step-grand and step great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Mae Killgore, and sister, Nina Campbell; and three brothers, C.B. Howard, Wallace Howard and H.A. Howard.
