Coahoma High School has named Josh Castilaw as its 2011 valedictorian and Michael Weihert as salutatorian.
Castilaw is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Castilaw and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Coates. During his high school career he served as freshman class president. He was a student council representative for three years and served as student council president his senior year. He also served as senior class president. He was in National Honor Society for three years and received the John Philip Sousa Award this year. He also made the “A” honor roll.
Weihert is the son of Richard D. Weihert and Carol P. Mann. As a freshman, he served as parliamentarian of B.P.A. and was elected vice president his sophomore year. He was also sophomore band representative. His junior year he was inducted into the National Honor Society and began taking dual credit classes. His senior year he received the 2010-2011 Outstanding Mathematics Student commendation from Howard College and received the Salutatorian Scholarship Award. He was also elected as the first vice president of the National Honor Society his senior year and concluded his high school career with 48 college credit hours. He graduates with a grade point average of 100.5.
